The Climate Action Ambassadors Program is a Climate Action Labs leadership initiative, designed to mobilize a global network of 10,000 university-hosted Climate Action Labs jointly innovating with their city governments. These Climate Action Labs will serve as hubs for climate innovation, research, and action, bridging academia and local governments to co-create scalable climate solutions.
Ambassadors will play a key role in expanding and strengthening this network of Climate Action Lab Chapters, bringing together universities, city governments, businesses, and civil society to implement climate action projects, shape policies, and build resilient, sustainable communities.
We are seeking dedicated climate leaders who:
✔ Are passionate about bridging academia, local governance, and climate action
✔ Have experience in climate advocacy, research, innovation, or policy engagement
✔ Can mobilize multi-sector stakeholders to establish and grow Climate Action Labs
✔ Are strategic thinkers with a commitment to systemic change
Ambassadors will undergo training in adaptive leadership, climate policy, systems thinking, and collaborative governance, equipping them with the tools to build and scale Climate Action Labs in universities and their surrounding cities.
Ambassadors will be responsible for establishing and expanding Climate Action Labs in universities, in partnership with local governments and community stakeholders. These Labs will serve as platforms for climate innovation, research, and implementation.
Ambassadors will connect with university leaders, city officials, researchers, businesses, and civil society to form strong, cross-sector partnerships that drive impactful climate solutions.
Ambassadors will help align Climate Action Labs with city, national, and global climate policies, advocating for evidence-based, equitable solutions and participating in climate governance forums.
Ambassadors will document and share best practices from their Climate Action Labs, using digital storytelling, case studies, and public engagement strategies to inspire broader adoption and influence decision-makers.
Climate Action Ambassadors will learn to deploy techniques taught at the Leading Change Network and Harvard's Problem-Driven Iterative Adaptation program.
